What are your legal rights when your car is repossessed?

Sometimes “life happens” and it becomes hard to make your monthly car payments. When you fall behind on your payments, your lender may repossess your car. It’s a common problem, especially when your lender charges you an exceptionally high-interest rate and monthly late fees. Lenders are required, however, to follow some very specific rules before and after they repossess your car in Maryland. Oftentimes, car lenders do not follow those very specific rules.

At Z Law, our team of attorneys frequently handles cases where cars were improperly repossessed and/or sold in violation of Maryland law. If your car was repossessed in Maryland, please contact us so that we may provide you with a free case evaluation. If we find out that your lender took any improper action, you may be entitled to monetary compensation or other relief.
